Delight
Time spent in nature is unique and personal. It might be the pleasure of learning something new during a guided naturalist hike, the satisfaction of completing a strenuous hike, or the calm state inspired by listening to a gentle stream. Whether you choose time in nature for the pursuit of knowledge, physical health, or mental relaxation, there's one common link: we can feel nature in our head, body, and heart. This could be through awe, wonder, connection, joy, grief, reciprocity, happiness, and perhaps...delight.

Indiana is home to beautiful forests, abundant bird life, open prairie, and numerous waterways calling for exploration. The variety of habitat, plant, and animal species are a wonderful setting for being IN nature and remembering that nature is withIN each of us as well.
Nature
"Nature" is sometimes viewed as something far away, wild, disconnected from the everyday. Folks journey out of town, state, or country to "find" natural places. Let's reimagine this...nature is right here, nearby, part of us. It's looking out the window at a passing cloud, feeling the breeze while sitting on the porch or in the yard, hearing a bird symphony during an evening walk in the neighborhood, watching the leaves fall in a local park. Nature is right here, right now. We are a part of nature, and nature is within each of us as well.
Forest Bathing and Slow Birding practices support us in connecting and re-connecting with ourselves and the natural spaces around us.
